October Half Term Activities

Half term's nearly here! We’ve got lots of free spooktacular half term activities to your family and friends entertained and no need to book.

Events and Actvities at Bolton Central Library and Museum from Monday 25 October until Sunday 31 October, 11am to 3pm:

Halloween Half Term ActivitiesMake It Monday - Join the Family Learning Team for some spooky crafts.

Fish feeds in the aquarium at 2.30pm on Monday, Wednesday and Friday.

Trail It Tuesday - Try out a new trail. Meet Curious Critters at 11am to 12pm and 1pm to 2pm. You can find out more about some creepy crawlies and handle a few!

Witchy Wednesday - Meet our witch look at her spooky museum specimens and join in with her crafty ideas.

Tabletop Thursday - Get hands on with objects and play some spooky games.

Film Friday, 1pm - watch ‘Hotel Transylvania 3’.

Saturday 30 October, (every hour from 10am to 4pm): Watch magician Mark Daniel’s spooky show and…

Beware! You may meet the Wolfman as he tells the tale of The Wolves in the Wall.

Sunday - Self-led Trail and craft.


Smithills Hall

Freaky Fantastic Friday, 29 October, 11am to 3pm: As well as taking part in our outdoor pumpkin trail, we will have a story time with local author Lizzie Ingrams who will be reading her book The Little Wonky Pumpkin, copies will also be available to buy on the day (cash only). Plus, we’ll have a Witch’s Kitchen Storytime, crafts and a spooky trail within the Hall. No booking required just turn up!

Meet Olga our Friendly Witch, Sunday 31 October 12 to 3pm: Meet Olga who will guide you through her spell book and set you a task to complete a trail around the house. Any completed trails returned to her will receive a Halloween Treat! No need to book just turn up - Olga will be waiting!


Meet the Curious Critters

Monday 25 October, 2pm at Westhoughton Library

Thursday 28 October, 3pm at Farnworth Library

Join us this half term and meet some creepy crawlies as the Curious Critters come to visit, plus you’ll get the chance to handle a few!

Free event and no need to book.
