eMagazines and eNewspapers are now available on BorrowBox. Customers can download the BorrowBox app where they will find eBook, eAudio and now eMagazines all in one place.


Bolton Central Library is now open in the Crompton Place Shopping Centre.

We will be offering a full range of services from Crompton Place while renovation work is carried out in our main location.

Bolton Museum and Aquarium will remain open throughout the Library renovation.

We provide library and information services through a network of ten libraries and the Home Library Service.

In addition to the Central Library, there are 9 Community Libraries providing access to resources and information across the borough.

The Ask Bolton Libraries enquiry service is available to answer your questions wherever you are in Bolton.

Bolton's Lost Words

Bolton's Lost Words was a literary and nature project funded by the National Lottery through Arts Council England to reconnect the communities of Bolton using nature and reading. Inspired by the book ‘The Lost Words’ by Robert Macfarlane and Jackie Morris, seven story trails were created by the community for five parks in Bolton. Explore today by downloading their trails!
