Heavy red woollen fabric; doubled hard, twisted warp; weft of loose woven yarn, thick and doubled with thinner strands of brighter red, yellow or green at irregular intervals. These coloured wefts are not continuous across the width of the cloth. Carpet weave. Finer warp than weft. Warp - S twisted 2 ply. 2 red wefts then row of knots. Weft is thick - 3 threads twisted together.
