A new exhibition from Saturday 7 August 2021 to Sunday 2 January 2022 in the Up Front gallery

We’re just putting the finishing touches to our new exhibition, Caring Bolton: The Community Response to Covid-19, which opens this Saturday, 7 August.

The exhibition features newly commissioned portraits of 10 local people who have done amazing work supporting others during the pandemic. The images are by Westhoughton-based photographer Marge Bradshaw and include a teacher, a care worker, a nurse and a vaccine centre volunteer.

Also included in the exhibition is a new, meditative film which mixes beautiful images of the local countryside with messages from the Mayor of Bolton and others reflecting on this most challenging of periods.

We’ll also be unveiling a new commission by Bolton textile artist Tara Collette. Tara spent part of lockdown producing a series of eye-catching banners with hand stitched messages on them. Tara has created a new textile banner for the exhibition.
