New Opening Times for Bolton Museum, Aquarium and Historic Halls

From Monday 17 May we will be able to welcome you back to Bolton Museum and Aquarium on Monday 17 May.

The Historic Halls will be reopening too with Hall i’th Wood Museum on Tuesday 18 May and Smithills Hall on Wednesday 19 May!

Please note: when you visit Smithills Hall please prebook an advance timed slot to arrive via Eventbrite or by calling 01204 332853. No need to book for Hall i’th Wood Museum.

To celebrate the reopening of Bolton Museum we'll be launching the new 'World of Colours' exhibition. It will provide a visually stimulating, informative and interesting experience for all ages. This bright and engaging exhibition tells you about colours, how it is produced and how it is used by plants and animals, including us humans.

Using a selection of objects from across the collections, you get more of an understanding of colour and see objects currently not on display. You’ll see a wide selection of objects from Natural History, Art, World Cultures, Archaeology and Social History collections.
