October Half Term events

All events at Bolton Library and Museum Services’ venues are FREE and no need to book unless otherwise stated. Activities are suitable for ages 4 to 11. For more information call 01204 332853 or email askboltonlibraries@bolton.gov.uk

There are lots of spooktastic activities for children to do this half term - see below for details:

Sunday 22 October

Halloween fun- Harwood Library, 2pm to 3pm

Join us for Halloween stories, craft and fun.

Monday 23 October

Starry nights - Bolton Central Library and Museum, 2.30pm to 3.30pm

The nights are drawing in so join us this half term week for an exploration of the constellations. Listen to space themed stories and make a stellar craft to take home.

Pumpkin decoration session - High Street Library, 9am to 7pm

Pop along and make a paper pumpkin decoration! This is an all-day drop in craft session.

Tuesday 24 October

Spooky competitions - High Street Library, 12.30pm to 5.30pm

Do you dare to enter all of our spooky competitions at High Street Library? You can write a scary story, Halloween poem, enter a word search or go on a ghost hunt. There will be some small prizes for those who are not spooked! This is a drop in session.

Fish Feed - Bolton Aquarium, 1pm

Join our Aquarium experts to find out more about our Freshwater fish collection.

Starry nights' picture session - Bolton Central Library and Museum, 1.30pm to 3pm

Join us as we continue our starry nights’ theme and create planets and stars pictures.

Wednesday 25 October

Cinema at the Crescent - The Boss Baby, Bolton Central Library and Museum, 2pm

Watch this fantastic family film! Light refreshments for sale. Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult.

Spooky spider craft session - Horwich Library, 2.30pm to 3.30pm

It’s Halloween! Make a spooky spider to take home and scare your friends. Free event and no need to book.

Thursday 26 October

Half term fun - Blackrod Library, 11am to 7pm

Join us for crafts including making your own pumpkin face, monster masks and play some games. This is an all-day drop in session.

Fish Feed - Bolton Aquarium, 1pm

Join our Aquarium experts to find out more about our Freshwater fish collection.

Bat craft session - Bolton Central Library and Museum, 1.30pm to 3pm

Come along and make your very own bat.

Spider story time and craft session - High Street Library, 2pm to 3pm

Come along and listen to a spider themed story. Then make a spider’s web game

and decorate a hanging giant spider.

Friday 27 October

Halloween Toddler Tales - Bolton Central Library and Museum, 11am

Come and listen to Halloween themed stories. We’ll also be singing and making a Halloween craft. Dress up if you like!

Halloween craft session - Smithills Hall, 1pm to 2.30pm

Come along and make a spooky haunted house. Perfect for Halloween!

Fangtastic Friday - Westhoughton Library, 2pm to 3pm

Join us this half term for spooky stories and creepy crafts.

Half term Halloween session - Harwood Library, 2pm to 3pm

Halloween is fast approaching so join us for stories and poems. Plus decorate our Halloween tree.

Saturday 28 October

Spooktastic Saturday Club - Bolton Central Library and Museum, 1.30pm to 3pm

Halloween is fast approaching so listen to spooky stories and make some creepy crafts.

Flying Science - Breightmet Library, 2pm to 3pm

How high will it go? How far can it fly? Test your flying skills with your own aeroplane. Be an aeronautical engineer and adjust your aircraft to make it go further or higher. Maybe you prefer the idea of sending a Rocket Mouse into space? Come along and find out. Suitable for children of all ages (even big ones can get involved).

Crafty Kids Spooktacular Saturday - Farnworth Library, 2pm to 3pm

Join us for spooktacular Halloween stories and crafts at this month's Crafty Kids Club. Dress up if you wish!

Cinema at High Street Library – Moana, 2.15pm to 4pm

High Street Library will be turned into a cinema for the afternoon so come along and watch family film ‘Moana’. Under 12 year olds must be accompanied by an adult.

Sunday 29 October

Ghost story and craft session - High Street Library, 2pm to 3pm

Listen to a ghost story and make a ghost decoration to take home.
