It’s going to be Spooktacular!
Come and find out about the strange and unusual history of our collections. Tours and activities throughout the week from 11am to 3pm. Spot one of our members of staff and you could be in for a ‘Trick or Treat’ and test your memory skills at our museum object table.
Saturday 19 October
We’re really excited to be taking part in the ‘Where’s Wally? The Big Museum Hunt’ to celebrate the release of ‘Double Trouble at the Museum’. Join in the fun search-and-find trail for the whole family to enjoy around Bolton Museum. Dress up if you wish and there’ll be craft activities for you to get involved in.

Help us to create Halloween bunting to decorate the museum! Pick from a range of spooky objects to decorate.
Tuesday 22 October
Join us for pop up spooktacular stories throughout the day! Discover more about bats from our collection and make a bat of your own to hang in the museum.
Wednesday 23 October
Meet a character from Bolton’s History gallery! They will bring to life some of the exciting happenings from the town’s important industrial past.
Thursday 24 October
Make a mutant venomous creature ready for Halloween!
Friday 25 October
Scavenger hunt. Seek out the clues to get the chance to take part in a prize draw.

Come along to our free film screening of Disney Halloween favourite ‘Frankenweenie’. Please pick up a free ticket in advance from High Street Library as places are limited.

Join us for our popular family Bingo session with a spooky theme. Tick off all the scary book titles and characters to win.

A group for young people aged 11+ who enjoy reading or who want to get into books. This is a fun and friendly session where you can discuss books and get reading recommendations.

Come along this half-term to discover Breightmet Library and the world of books!
We will show you the kinds of books we have, and you will be able to choose your own to borrow. We will show you how to find and borrow books you will like, and you will be able to enjoy a craft and use the computers.
